New New Welcome video…

Thank you so so much for watching yesterday’s new video, the next instalment will be 11th if June. I’ll pop that one up for midday Friday. Looking like current series will be 3 videos. Let’s hope I do actually drive somewhere in next one rather than just cooking and shopping!

Anyhow new welcome video. New arrivals on my YouTube Channel page have a video play straight off unprompted as a way of raising peoples interest to draw you in. First was me in my lorry talking too fast, but was 8 years ago, then I made another where I wrote a script but I was incredibly wooden* and it was too long. So made a 13s one with a voiceover but made up as I go along. However I still didn’t like it so I’ve ditched the voiceover and done this one, which I really like. Posting about it as it’s unlisted meaning only new visitors will see it unless I post a link. So here be that link.

NOTE!- It’s fast for impact. All of the photos were taken from here and various social media. Don’t worry it’s too fast, you’ll have seen the pictures before.

*Who knew reading from a script naturally was so hard! (None of my vids have ever been scripted)

And of course thank you from bottom of me and my families heart for your financial and mental help (rescue even!)you’ve so given us.

#MyTopThree; Vehicles. Number 1

I was young once! (To be fair I was at least 35 here!) So……my all time favourite truck was never really in doubt was it?! My FH16 750 I drove for Virginia is the single best vehicle I’ve ever driven but as a whole the Volvo FH is in my opinion one of the best vehicles ever made, and the final version with this cab, the V3, the ultimate version. The only sensible downside anyone can ever come up with is inside space with the sharply raked screen. It was a struggle at first moving from a Topline but when everything else was just better about the Volvo, not least an extra 310 horses under my right foot!.  When Virginia gave me the 750 I thought I’d better make the most of it, of having the most powerful truck on the road as Scania had only lost the title a year or two previously so as everyone said (including me) they’d soon bring out a 750 killer. Well, that took a while. Only now have they released the 770S, 9 years after this truck hit the road and 6 years after I stopped driving i...

#ThrowbackThursday; Where It All Began….

#ThrowbackThursday - So if you’ve followed me for long you will already know I’ve had a rather ridiculous career working for every man and his dog, driving everything from vans to rigids to artics to drawbars to buses and coaches. I’m really proud of my bonkers career, it’s been absolutely amazing! But, my driving career didn’t start on the road, it started on a landfill, in a Moxy! For pretty my whole childhood Dad was a mechanic who drove on the side. I used to spend lots of time with him, going away in lorries or spending the weekend with him in the workshop. One job he had was for a local plant hire company and this was one of the best as back in those days when no one really cared much about H&S, I got to drive and play with machines in the yard. It got to point where I could lift engines and axles etc with pinpoint precision with the mini digger, helping Pops. Can’t dig a hole to save my life tho! One day one of the bosses saw me gently lifting the engine back into a Mox...
