#ThrowbackThursday; Christmas 2001 New Ross, Ireland.

Hello all. Had a lovely day visiting family yesterday. Had to go though Dads pictures for an upcoming magazine article and got loads I’ll be sharing here over the next few weeks. This one is what was then and may still be a traditional New Ross Christmas, a yard full of trucks! This was 2001 when Mercedes and Iveco ruled the roost at Nolans, with MAN as a big part player! And yes, if you’re poised to type ‘they probably still run them’ don’t, it’s a very tired joke at this stage!

Since the times Dad drove an SK my dream classic lorry has been an SK, Eurocab if possible, an 1850 4x2 (is 4x2 superfluous? Since model number tells you it’s a 4 wheeler. 18 - 18 tonnes, so four wheeler, 50 500 horses). Ideally with Movin On on the visor.

Everyone gets wet over the Scania 143 but in my opinion the SK was every bit a legendary Irish lorry. And dare I say it……actually a better lorry (don’t hate me)
