Not much going on

How do. Not much to say this week. But I promised an update so here it is goddamit.

Had the weekend off to collect my new insane car and a friends insane dog that my parents are looking after. He's lovely, just a bit mad, and greedy!

As you can see I've 'Lukeified' it already with new numberplates, my lorry driver sticker and rally tags.

Got back to work to find that some driver decided a good way to park is to ram his lorry into the back of mine! No damage though apart from a mark on the airtanks.

Saw this old lady this week in/near Purfleet. Does she still work? Was taxed and looked like a worker. I know of plenty of drivers who have a wet dream over this old girl!! She'd be worth silly money in Ireland.

And an Astran trailer, pulled by a Seymour unit. Astran have such a high profile name they don't make enough of it. After all here I am posting a picture of, let's be honest, as scabby old trailer just because it's Astran. Doing the Middle East was my big dream growing up a kid in the 80's and I had a big Astran poster on the wall. Unfortunately I was born a bit too late. Hey ho I've certainly no complaints about the career I've had so far. (Can you imagine how good this website would be if I was doing the Middle East?!)

And finally waiting for the train yesterday. I'm heading to Vienna for Tuesday morning and this will be the subject of a video, if your not too bored of them yet.

ONWARD!

#ThrowbackThursday; Where It All Began….

#ThrowbackThursday - So if you’ve followed me for long you will already know I’ve had a rather ridiculous career working for every man and his dog, driving everything from vans to rigids to artics to drawbars to buses and coaches. I’m really proud of my bonkers career, it’s been absolutely amazing! But, my driving career didn’t start on the road, it started on a landfill, in a Moxy! For pretty my whole childhood Dad was a mechanic who drove on the side. I used to spend lots of time with him, going away in lorries or spending the weekend with him in the workshop. One job he had was for a local plant hire company and this was one of the best as back in those days when no one really cared much about H&S, I got to drive and play with machines in the yard. It got to point where I could lift engines and axles etc with pinpoint precision with the mini digger, helping Pops. Can’t dig a hole to save my life tho! One day one of the bosses saw me gently lifting the engine back into a Mox...
