Not much going on

Good evening/night/morning/afternoon* all. Hope life finds you all well. Not much happening of interest in the past week, plus as well as my iPhone being away for repair for the next couple of weeks I've lost the camera charger so I'm afraid the site will be a bit low on pictures for a while. On the plus side I'm putting together a video which should be sorted for next week.

Anyhow it's been a bit of a sad week for me, Steve Jobs was a hero of mine. I don't have many heroes but he was certainly one. He changed the world and was/is a massive inspiration. So it's a very truck free update this week I'm afraid. It was my birthday today and I made my first cake! In the shape of the Apple logo in memory of the Big J.





This was a great piece of design from a 19 year old design student in Hong Kong

So if you have thought about what #MyTopThree Countries much I dare say you’ll find number one inevitable. So yes, Ireland! I feel I should remind you this is a top 3 based on overall experience, not just driving. Though it has a terrible reputation for bad roads the road network is unrecognisable compared to just 20/25 years ago and bad roads are becoming ever fewer and further between. My first taste of Ireland was when Dad started working for Nolans in the late 90’s who were at the time one of ‘South Wales’ biggest employers of drivers. Back then the roads were horrendous and you had to make sure everything was strapped down, in the cab as well as the trailer! Nolan’s gets a lot of bad said about it but like most things a lot is not really true. Yes they were plain speakers, yes you ran day and night but no one ever went there for an easy time. EXTREME WEATHER; ADVICE FOR CAR DRIVERS

Hello peeps. As many of you will know some really bad weather is about to hit us and last over the festive period. Reading about it on BBC news the line 'give high sided vehicles plenty of room' gave me an idea for a blog post. So here it is! Many people who have very little motorway experience take to the road at this time of year. Im not claiming to be the best driver in the world, I just know that many car drivers follow my blog and lets face it the car test is inadequate at best. So all I want to do is give you some advice I learned from driving everything from cars to minibuses to double deck coaches and vans to artics in 22 different countries over the past 18 years! IN HIGH WINDS- 1. DO NOT DITHER! On motorways often if a problem occurs most car drivers first reaction is to brake. In many cases this can be the worst option!
