Happy Fridayeve

Hope life finds everyone well. Just been having a picture sort out on my laptop so I thought I'd post a couple of interesting ones from past couple of years.

You often see Iranian trucks in Italy. In fact by Milan or Turin I can't remember there is a service area which is often full of them. From old Americans like this one to Chinese trucks based on the old Volvo FL10 cab -

These trucks belong to a chain of restaurants in France called Buffalo Grill. Every one is different, not every ones cup of tea but a bit of a change to the norm -

And this turned up in the yard while I was there in May 2010, a brand new demonstrator. I was first to take it for a spin and loved it. Little did I know at the time 5 months later I'd have one of my very own.

So there you go, just a little update. Will hopefully post another short Movember update on Tuesday at the end of week 2. Also I can't wait to get out with my new tripod and start taking some night shots. Watch this space.

A SHORT DAF XF REVIEW

DAF Review So, one of most common questions I'm asked lately is what I think of the DAF. Obviously for a long time time I've mostly driven Volvos and Scanias and before this job it was well over a decade since I last tramped full time in a DAF (for HSF). As you know though I had driven later models and hated the body XF with a passion!  When the current version came out DAF seemed very confidant it would change my mind about them in our Twitter exchanges but I thought how different can it be? The answer? A lot. In some ways its like a completely different truck despite being almost identical in looks. Firstly- the gearbox. The auto on previous DAFs was a fupping disaster and everyone knew it! Show, jerky and just generally rubbish in a way no auto should be this late in the day. That's completely changed, for the vast majority of the time it's indistinguishable from an iShift (that having long been the good standard). Yes it has its odd moments but they are very rare an...

The Flexibility of In-House Training, Without The Cost

I offer you all the advantages of having an in house trainer without the cost or commitment. I will quote for your business based on how many drivers will need training over the course of a year, then you or your drivers can simply contact me when they wish to attend one of my online timetabled courses, taking away all the stress of trying to arrange up to 20 drivers to sit a course on the same day, much more flexible for your business and I take all the stress out of it. Let’s face it running a transport company is stress enough! I run daytime, evening and weekend courses, times to suit everyone. I also find this method is much more popular with the drivers. I am however also happy to quote for your online or in person courses, up to 20 at a time at times and dates to suit you at any location. Everyone who attends my courses and your office staff will be given my contact details and told I’m available at any time to help and advise as required. I’m always here to help customers, basic...
