TRUCKSHOW TRUCKSHOW TRUCKSHOW!

Hello friends of the interwebs. How are we this sunny day. Exciting news this end. Professor Douglas Legohead has come to visit his cousin Sir Bertie. Alas Douglas has run into a spot of bad luck and needs somewhere new to live. As you know I'm at the All Wales Truckshow this weekend and Prof. Douglas in a noble act has agreed to let me raffle him off! So me and Jason from Chrome Northwest shall be selling raffle tickets, the proceeds from which will go towards the Professional Drivers Foundation. The prize is Professor Douglas filled with some Chrome Northwest cleaning goodies to the value of around £40. Tickets will be a pound and if you see me on the road later in the week I shall happily sell you a ticket as well. Im nothing if not inclusive. So anyhow, I hope to see some of you this Sunday in Carmarthen and I'll be easy to find as I'm on the Chrome Northwest stand, so you can buy a raffle ticket, meet Sir Bertie and buy some first class cleaning products for your truck. SUNWARD!

#MyTopThree; Vehicles. Number 2

Number 2 is on my fridge, a rare honour indeed! So here we have number 2, which is a bit of a curveball! I imagine most of you know I started on buses and coaches before trucks and one company I worked for was Clarkes of London. I worked there after The Glider, the summer season after. I was 22/23, only been driving 3/4 years, and they didn’t know me from Adam frankly so how I ended up driving the new Setras at London’s best coach company after the initial 3 or 4 weeks driving the usual ‘new guy’ older coaches is beyond me! I even had a few days driving their double deckers. Nuts when I think about lots of my bonkers career but nothing I say is ever made up I promise! There really is no need! (I’ve only realised how crazy my career has been after thinking about it over the past 18 months!). Oh and just to add, NONE of it is ever ever ever a boast. I’ve just been lucky, I’ve not done anything no one else could do, I’ve just taken more opportunities than most. I’m often left bewildered w...

#TopTips: WTD & EU Drivers Hours

Hullo! So boom, after years of procrastination I finally have a drivers hours video! I’ve tried to simplify it and make it more of a chat than me droning on from a script and I think it’s turned out well. In the description all the chapters are marked so in future you can just skip straight to a point you may need reminding of. Would be great if you can share as much as possible, I know it’s 38 minutes but the legal aspect is only the first 18 minutes, the rest is dispelling the many myths about drivers hours that go around. Don’t forget my email is ALWAYS OPEN if you need advice or some clarification. If I can’t answer I’ll know someone who can. Also if after 24 hours I’ve not replied please email me again with REMINDER in capitals in description, some emails so fall through the cracks in my non existent filing system! So yes email and remember you are never bothering me and I’m always happy to help if I can. luke@lorry-driver.com It’s made me realise I love everything about teaching ...
