My family are from Buckinghamshire originally
So lots of old pictures to post over the coming weeks, I’m excited to share them with you. But to start at the beginning. In this pic you can see my Granddads lorry, and in one pic my Dad as a child in front of it! (Very old so not great quality) Sadly I never knew my Granddad as he passed away before I was born but I like the thought that I’m doing what I do because of him, of the father he was to Dad and Dad to me. Gramps was a mechanic and driver* just like Dad,  just like Sam and even I started out on the spanners believe it or not (find it hard to believe myself!). I just was a bit shit at it, unlike Sam and Dad! My heart always belonged to driving. Many kids hate the thought they copy their parents! We all did in every way & are proud of it. Also as a result Gramps had a huge influence on the Grandchildren he never met, our lives are shaped by a man who died long before we were born, and I think that’s lovely and the ultimate thing to be remembered for. (I also take after my Mum, not least in our shared love of food and chickens but this isn’t chicken-keeper.com

So Grandad, I wish I could shake your hand and say thank you.

* From Dad- He (Gramps) was a mechanic and ๐Ÿš› driver at F C Bennett’s transport in Kingston Blount which is now a housing estate and the name of the road is Bennett’s yard

Lukes Weekly Listening w/e 16th of June 

Hello chums. Second installment of my weekly listening post. I was on holiday with a friend in America last week and thankfully for £5 a day Vodafone let me use my phone as if I'm in UK, so we drove around streaming 6 Music & Radio 4. Firstly the Today Programme. In my humble opinion it is the best news programme out there. The joys of iplayer meant we could listen as we set off in morning. If I don't listen to at least an hour my day feels off kilter. Radio 4 Today Programme 21/6/17  (This is today's) Farming Toda y - Another programme I love which is on before Today is Farming Today. SOME VERY SAD NEWS AND A REQUEST

Hello chums, I hope you are well. You may have noticed I've been a little quiet online the past few days. The picture is of my brother in his first week as a truck driver driving my R500, Bruce, when he came to work for Virginia and spent a week with me learning the ropes! Its breaks my heart to tell to that at 9am on Saturday morning he died when his heart failed in hospital after being admitted with pneumonia. He had been ill for a year or so but this was a bolt out of the blue that has left us devastated. He seemed to be getting better. I tried to make a video for this request but I couldn't hold it together long enough to get many words out. He was 32 years old and leaves two young children. So heres the request, the care he has had over the past year has been brilliant, so I have decided to try and raise some money in his memory to help people in the area he lived who need care like he did.
