Pretentious? Moi?

Yo dudez and lady dudez, how’s the shizzle? Anyhow, I’ll stop talking like a mentally disturbed teenager from 1996 and start talking like a weird 43 year old loner, and be serious. As you see on this post is my image with my name below, much like a newsletter or magazine article. This isn’t me being incredibly pretentious, well partly but because I want to start having guests feature on my blog. So, anyone interested? Just needs to be transport related but other than that anything goes. So if you’ve a subject you wish to get off your chest pop me an email. I will promote these posts in the same way and as much as I do any other post. Also what things would you like to see covered on the blog? As I said in the video recently I’m slowly pushing lorry-driver.com into a wider area, fill it with features, pictures, videos etc, of me or other people. EXTREME WEATHER; ADVICE FOR CAR DRIVERS

Hello peeps. As many of you will know some really bad weather is about to hit us and last over the festive period. Reading about it on BBC news the line 'give high sided vehicles plenty of room' gave me an idea for a blog post. So here it is! Many people who have very little motorway experience take to the road at this time of year. Im not claiming to be the best driver in the world, I just know that many car drivers follow my blog and lets face it the car test is inadequate at best. So all I want to do is give you some advice I learned from driving everything from cars to minibuses to double deck coaches and vans to artics in 22 different countries over the past 18 years! IN HIGH WINDS- 1. DO NOT DITHER! On motorways often if a problem occurs most car drivers first reaction is to brake. In many cases this can be the worst option! #MyTopThree: Countries. 1. IRELAND

So if you have thought about what #MyTopThree Countries much I dare say you’ll find number one inevitable. So yes, Ireland! I feel I should remind you this is a top 3 based on overall experience, not just driving. Though it has a terrible reputation for bad roads the road network is unrecognisable compared to just 20/25 years ago and bad roads are becoming ever fewer and further between. My first taste of Ireland was when Dad started working for Nolans in the late 90’s who were at the time one of ‘South Wales’ biggest employers of drivers. Back then the roads were horrendous and you had to make sure everything was strapped down, in the cab as well as the trailer! Nolan’s gets a lot of bad said about it but like most things a lot is not really true. Yes they were plain speakers, yes you ran day and night but no one ever went there for an easy time. Fact is they were/are well run and like most of Ireland’s transport sector a family firm where you’re more like to see the boss in overalls ...
