#TopTruckTuesday!


Hello all, hope everyone’s week is going well. Mine is great thankyouplease.

So a new website feature begins, as the title suggests it’s #TopTruckTuesday, another ‘genius’ hashtag invented by me. Anyhow I had to kick it off with a Renault T High really didn’t I! And what a T High it is! That colour is stunning and it has exactly the sort of look I’d have if I had my own truck (won’t be likely before you ask!), Durabrite Alloys, great colour, well kept. In my world less is certainly more. 

If you want your truck to be have this ‘great honour’ bestowed upon it on this ‘prestige’ website* email me lorrydriverluke@live.com. Open to trucks of all shapes, sizes, types and ages. Open to old pictures too tho that might become a standalone feature, trucks in past. It really doesn’t have to be a flashy flagship! Also any quality, one of my hobbies is editing photographs, you’d be surprised at how good technically bad photos can be.

EXTREME WEATHER; ADVICE FOR CAR DRIVERS

Hello peeps. As many of you will know some really bad weather is about to hit us and last over the festive period. Reading about it on BBC news the line 'give high sided vehicles plenty of room' gave me an idea for a blog post. So here it is! Many people who have very little motorway experience take to the road at this time of year. Im not claiming to be the best driver in the world, I just know that many car drivers follow my blog and lets face it the car test is inadequate at best. So all I want to do is give you some advice I learned from driving everything from cars to minibuses to double deck coaches and vans to artics in 22 different countries over the past 18 years! IN HIGH WINDS- 1. DO NOT DITHER! On motorways often if a problem occurs most car drivers first reaction is to brake. In many cases this can be the worst option! #MyTopThree: Countries. 1. IRELAND

So if you have thought about what #MyTopThree Countries much I dare say you’ll find number one inevitable. So yes, Ireland! I feel I should remind you this is a top 3 based on overall experience, not just driving. Though it has a terrible reputation for bad roads the road network is unrecognisable compared to just 20/25 years ago and bad roads are becoming ever fewer and further between. My first taste of Ireland was when Dad started working for Nolans in the late 90’s who were at the time one of ‘South Wales’ biggest employers of drivers. Back then the roads were horrendous and you had to make sure everything was strapped down, in the cab as well as the trailer! Nolan’s gets a lot of bad said about it but like most things a lot is not really true. Yes they were plain speakers, yes you ran day and night but no one ever went there for an easy time. Fact is they were/are well run and like most of Ireland’s transport sector a family firm where you’re more like to see the boss in overalls ...
